H&M HOME is thrilled to announce a highly anticipated design partnership that promises to transport the coveted Caribbean aesthetic directly into homes worldwide. In an exciting collaboration, H&M HOME has teamed up with Palm Heights, the celebrated beachfront boutique hotel on Grand Cayman Island, founded and impeccably designed by the New York-based Creative Director and tastemaker, Gabriella Khalil. This unique collection, launching on 12th June 2025, invites design enthusiasts to infuse their living spaces with the laid-back luxury and vibrant spirit of one of the international style set's favourite destinations.

Routine resort-goers know the Cayman Islands’ Seven Mile Beach well—they flock to its white sands, turquoise water, and luxurious coastal amenities for stress-free holidays. Among the hotel-speckled coastline, Palm Heights stands out for being the first of its kind on the strip—an all-suite boutique hotel with splashy, '70s-derived interiors that quickly became a fixture for coastal creatives when it reopened in 2019. The visionary behind its distinct style? Creative director Gabriella Khalil, also known for her wide breadth of interiors work, including projects in New York’s WSA building, Brooklyn's SAA project, as well as global hospitality projects.

A Piece of Paradise: Bringing Palm Heights Home

Nestled on Grand Cayman’s pristine Seven Mile Beach, recognised as one of the world's most beautiful beaches, Palm Heights has garnered a formidable reputation since its opening in 2019. It stands as the island's first all-suite boutique hotel, offering 52 spacious suites, each boasting breathtaking ocean views and generous living areas. The hotel's visually compelling and richly designed interiors draw inspiration from the glamorous halcyon days of the 1970s Caribbean, reinterpreting that era with a contemporary and elegant touch. Beyond its stunning aesthetics, Palm Heights is cherished for its personable, at-home feel and deep connection with the local community, offering an unparalleled escape that blends sophistication with genuine warmth. It has even earned the affectionate title of "Instagram's favourite hotel," attracting a discerning clientele that includes notable figures from the fashion and music worlds, drawn to its highly photogenic yellow sun loungers and overall vibrant aesthetic.

On 12th June, H&M Home and Khalil are bringing the property’s signature holiday vibe to your own space, with a resort-inspired line that draws from the palette and prints of Palm Heights—its bright yellows, white sands, cabana stripes, and retro style. While the Swedish powerhouse already offers an impressive decor inventory, this melding of the minds invites a new point of view to their Scandi sensibilities.

The H&M HOME x Palm Heights collection, comprising 23 thoughtfully curated pieces, perfectly encapsulates this signature design universe. It’s an ode to the hotel’s sun-drenched, glamorous spirit, offering an array of objects designed to evoke that cherished holiday feeling within the comfort of one's own home. From vibrant textiles to sculptural ceramics and playful accessories, each item is a testament to the distinctive allure of Palm Heights.

A Visionary Partnership: Blending Bold Aesthetics with Accessible Design

Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg, Head of Design & Creative at H&M HOME, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, pictured here with Gabriella Khalil: "There is something magical about the lifestyle of personal design hotels and the creative personalities behind these projects. Gabriella’s vision for Palm Heights is captivating, blending bold aesthetics with a vibrant, retro charm that feels fresh and contemporary. This partnership and the collection marries the hotel’s energy, style, and a sense of escapism with our approach to creating affordable, modern design — inspiring interior enthusiasts all over the world to create personal and stylish spaces."

"Our philosophy is to create interior objects that stand the test of time in terms of design while also respecting quality and price, so that interior enthusiasts can decorate their homes in a personal and contemporary way,” Kravaev-Söderberg added. “A collaboration like this allows us to tap into a unique world and invite our customers to access the beauty and escapism of Palm Heights.”

Gabriella Khalil, Creative Director of Palm Heights, echoed this sentiment, emphasising the collection's ability to capture the essence of a holiday: "This collection is about capturing that magical feeling of being on holiday in your home: That could be a relaxing, beautiful moment in your bathroom feeling fantastic in your robe, or having guests come over and creating memories around a table with special glassware. Also, while Palm Heights is a highly visual and chic space, there is also a real playfulness about it at the same time, and the mix of both of these worlds would be my ideal for people to take away from the collection."

“We call the '70s the glory days of the Caribbean—moments from that time and the architecture of the building lent itself to that era. We wanted to hone in on it,” Khalil said. “Photography by Slim Aarons and imagery of Grace Jones have been a consistent visual reference.”

Iconic Design Elements Reimagined

Central to the collection are the instantly recognisable cotton beach towels and robes, featuring graphic yellow and white or earthy-brown and white stripes with distinctive chequered trims. These designs are directly inspired by the hotel’s emblematic palette and the vibrant yellow of the iconic beachfront umbrellas, a calling card of Palm Heights. These eye-catching patterns and the signature bright yellow hue now punctuate the entire collection, extending even to the bespoke packaging. The striped cotton robes in bright yellow and deep brown mix with striped towels with checkered trims in the same palette, gesturing to the umbrellas that line the beachfront property.

Gabriella Khalil’s keen eye for eclectic design objects, reminiscent of the hand-picked treasures that imbue Palm Heights with its unique character, is evident throughout. The hotel's design ethos itself is a masterful blend of vintage elegance and Caribbean glamour, incorporating collectible design pieces from renowned artists and designers. Khalil, with a background in art and design, meticulously sourced unique furnishings from Parisian flea markets, Los Angeles, and Mexico, alongside works by design luminaries such as Marcel Breuer, Mario Bellini, Pierre Paulin, Vladimir Kagan, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and Gijs Bakker. This careful curation, along with extensive research into North African textiles, creates the rich mix of patterns and materials that define Palm Heights.

The collection features an array of teak sandstone ceramics, including sculptural vases, bowls, and candle holders, all recalling the rich mineral materials found throughout the hotel’s interiors and the expanse of the beach beyond. This commitment to authentic materials extends to handwoven objects, such as a chic decorative basket for small items and an elegant handheld fan. The sun fan is rattan with a bold black handle, which, Khalil says, “captures the playfulness and elegance of the collection as well as the spirit of summer holidays.” A reed diffuser and candle manifest the scent of the Caribbean coastline—tonka santal with sun-ripe plum, cedarwood, and tobacco.

With play and relaxation top of mind, the collection also features a checkered Ping-Pong set and backgammon set for bringing summer playfulness to the home. The reversible stripe throw pillows in the collection’s characteristic yellow and brown, and the Palm Heights–embossed cabana towel, are key pieces.

The Palm Heights Experience: More Than Just a Stay

Beyond its stunning design, Palm Heights offers a comprehensive luxury experience. Each suite is generously appointed with marble bathrooms, dual vanities, high-end amenities like Costa Brazil bath products, Chemex coffee makers, and even two minibars – one for "detox" and one for "retox." Guests can enjoy Apple TVs with Netflix, Bose speakers, and a curated selection of vintage books and magazines from the in-house "Library Fetish."

The hotel boasts two swimming pools, including a main pool with a bar and a more secluded "Turtle Pool" with hammocks and a jacuzzi, all set amidst lush landscaped grounds. Dining options include Tillies, an iconic beachfront restaurant led by Chef Jake Brodsky, focusing on classic Caribbean dishes with local produce, and The Coconut Club, a stylish beach bar. Paradise Pizza offers Neapolitan-style pizzas, while Yashinoki specialises in multi-course Japanese fare. For a more exclusive evening, Bambi is a late-night, guest-only space serving signature cocktails.

Wellness is a cornerstone of the Palm Heights experience. The "Garden Club" and "Palm Heights Athletics" offer a holistic approach to health. The Garden Club Spa, modelled on a Belgian labyrinth garden, features an outdoor hammam, infrared sauna, steam room, ice room, and plunge pools, offering rituals and treatments inspired by early Caribbean healing traditions. Palm Heights Athletics provides a 24/7 indoor gym studio equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, alongside a regular programme of classes ranging from mobility and HIIT to sound healing and rooftop yoga. Guests can also enjoy complimentary paddleboards, snorkels, and kayaks for exploring the turquoise waters.

"Palm Heights is very special. There’s a deep connection with the community there," Gabriella Khalil concluded. "It’s about collaboration, and while it’s luxurious, there’s a feeling of warmth and casual playfulness that resonates with many guests. It’s a place where people can relax and be themselves. With this H&M HOME collection, I hope people feel the beginning of summer; there’s joyfulness, sunshine, and elegant simplicity.”

Ultimately, Kravaev-Söderberg’s goal is to make the magic of the islands accessible to all. “Our idea is to give more people the opportunity to feel the magic of these incredible places—to allow them to travel without leaving home,” she says. The collection’s most expensive item clocks in at £140, with prices starting at £25, offering a truly accessible way to experience the Palm Heights spirit.

The Palm Heights x H&M HOME collection will be available from 12th June 2025, in selected H&M HOME stores and online at HM Home, offering a passport to Caribbean charm for interiors worldwide.
